I don't think so, actually. I was shocked when I came to the uk - my boys were extremely well behaved but people would snarl at them for no reason. They were treated either so impatiently or so patronisingly that I found it hard to get a balance. I couldn't believe the way people would just swear at them or abuse them. For small things, like holding onto the back of the seat when the bus was crowded.
And they don't care if you've got small children - they swear openly in front of them and discuss totally unsuitable things. They go from Rosie and Jim to having sex almost overnight. I often wish I hadn't moved here, for my children's sake. Kids aren't allowed out and if they are, it's because they're neglected.
I love the UK - but not from a kid's point of view.

In general, i would say a child raised in the UK will become a well rounded individual - in a few years its going to mean exactly that.

But as for London, there are places that will bring down the strongest adults to a local scumbag.

All depends on the actual location.

Yes. It's just like America--there are good people and bad people. People will struggle at one point in their life getting on/off a bus. I actually feel NYC is far worse then London when it comes to people being polite!

London is not child friendly, but the UK in general is.

Good god its horrible living here. You cant let the kids out of your sight for a minute. You cant go out to eat with them after eight in the evening. And yes they do struggle on buses. Sometimes you can be lucky and people help but more often than not they try and push in front of you.

Yes, London is very busy and bustling, we all know that! But I had no problem negotiating the steps of a busy train station complete with my small daughter and my baby son in a pushchair, there was no shortage of people willing to help me. Sometimes you just have to give people a chance.

I think lots of places are okay, but London...I haven't ever looked at that from a mothers perspective.

i am from the UK and have no complaints about growing up here but i honestly think one place is the same as another near enough, its all down to the individual, home is what you make it, there is good and bad in every culture and every country all around the world, who can say which one is better or worse??????
