Overweight and Gluttony are two different things. Those that are gluttons about food, enjoy and don't care what they become. People that are generally overweight don't enjoy being there. For some it is a struggle. There are such things as thyroid problems, that if you ask anyone that has it, it is practically impossible to lose weight. In fact, they gain. Their metabolism slows down, they are exhausted all the time. It is something that I dealt with for a year and a half and didn't even know I had it. I am taking medicaton now and it is doing great.

Eventhough I have had this problem, I have always tried to work the weight off. I have not been lazy at all. At one point I was walking for 1-2 miles 6 days a week and doing pilates and another exercise video, unfortunately there were very little results. I did feel like I was not keeping my temple in the best shape, and there were many times I went before the Lord, but he knew my heart in the matter. He knew I didn't want to remain this way and be unhealthy. He knew I wanted to get back to being healthy again.

Is it always easy, no. My discipline hasn't changed a whole lot. There was just something wrong that I couldn't correct on my own.

Tacky little stab isnt it. Certainly one can say anthing, free country, but it doesnt necessarily have any weight (pardon the pun here) with Religion.

If being overweight is a medical problem, it's justify-able, if it's gluttony it is a sin.
