I am a believer in God and the Bible, so I'm not trying to disprove my fellow Christians. I know that there are MANY references to current wars, events, etc. I just want to see if anybody knows some that I missed.

Good question.

Isaiah 29:11 And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed:
12 And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.
13 ¶ Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
14 Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.

The Book referred to in verses 11 and 12 is the "Book of Mormon" (for more information regarding that go to www.lds.org ---scriptures ---Joseph Smith History --verses 63-65)

and in verse 14 the marvellous work spoken of is the "Restoration of the Gospel" ---When Jesus Christ was on the Earth He set up His Church, which had prophets and apostles etc...When Jesus Christ and apostles were killed -the true Church was eventually lost because the authority of the Priesthood was taken (no one could peform ordinances - such as baptism- that would be recognized by God---because the True Priesthood is needed to do that)

Hebrews 5:4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.

(A man cannot just say he is a priest -- He needs to be ordained to the Priesthood by the proper Priesthood authority, by the laying on of the hands.)

Articles of Faith 5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.

In these latter days God has restored His true Priesthood to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith, and it is found today in "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints"

There are many other scriptures I would like to comment on, but this is probably enough for now.

I can give you a lot of verse in the Bible that talk about the tribulation period and the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth to rule and reign. Those things are not going on today because the body of Christ (the church) is still on the earth and the church has not been appointed to the wrath of God. (Rom 5:9, I Thes 1:10, I Thes 5:9) The next to happen to thee church is it will be caught off the earth to meet the Lord in the air. Then the prophecy of Daniel's 70th week will take place (Daniel 9:27). The last days of the church tell us what going on today and it has nothing to do with sings, wonders, and wars. If it did then why didn't the Lord return when we had Word War I and II? Here are the verses and they are all going on today, so the rapture of the church could happen any day. 2 Timothy 3: 1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 Timothy 3: 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 2 Timothy 3: 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 2 Timothy 3: 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 2 Timothy 3: 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

Even 2 corinithians 11:14 says he can transform himself into an angel of light. So limited to a book, no not necessarily so.. Because God goes beyond a book, he is a spirit, a creator. And a snake can only hide his real self for but so long.. Because whats in the dark will ALWAYS come to the light. And he gives us wisdom to discern the two: both good and evil. Satan preys on everyone... Just pray for the ones who don't even know.

Every time I read this verse I think of the Oprah Winfrey show.
2 Timothy 3:6-7 For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. And this verse is so true of all the churches I've been to lately (new to my area and still church hunting) 2 Timothy 4:3,4 for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and will turn aside to myths.
