I am looking for an alternate place to hold a reception in Chicago. I don't want to hold it in a traditional banquet hall. Any help would be appreciated.

I think Brookfield zoo would be nice. I think Cantigny in Wheaton will also host a wedding. Look into golf courses and country clubs. What about a hotel?

My wife and I had our reception at Silver Lakes Country Club in Orland Park, I highly recommend it.

Depends on the amount of Money you want to spend, but the Navy Pier would be nice in the Crystal Gardens, on the Spirit of Chicago, the Southshore Club, the Shedd Aqaurium. There is a beautiful room in the Harold Washington Library that host Receptions. A favorite restaurant of yours and your fiances. The Russian Tea Room.

The Art Institute or the Botanical Gardens are both nice, though pricy. The Brookfield Zoo also does wedding receptions.
