The more siblings you have (and the less parents), the more financial aid you get. The loan company will look at it like your parents are going to have to finance 4 children through school as opposed to just one. So if you have step brothers/sisters, be sure to mention them on your loan app! You want to make your family look as poor as possible

It can benefit depending on the situation. However, if there is a difference in earnings between the family members who receive it, it can make a difference in the award. However, in both cases, it is a good idea to file as early as possible on the FAFSA.ed.gov form. It is good to seek advice of a financial aid person at both colleges to learn more.

It doesn't. Financial Aid is awarded to an individual not a family.

Finacial aid is based on the income, not the amount awarded. However, the money awarded depends on the funds available and the "first come, first serve" of the applicants.

it depends on where you are from, i guess. In 1999, my older sister and i both got student loans for college, and we both got more than enough to cover everything. The next year, my younger sister started University, and my mother decided to go beck to college, and they both got enough to cover everything, too. But in 2003, i went to go back to college, and i only got enough to barely cover tuition and room and board (i had to move two hours away) It all depends on how much you or your parents make, they assume you are saving money if you have a job (in 2003, i was working full time, but if i was able to save anything, it would only be about 10 dollar a month, i was at min. wage and had car, rent, insurance etc bills) i called and told them that, but the only bills that they take into effect are medical bills, because they are the only ones you can't help having.
