Mick Jagger?
Actually Keith is an excellent name for a cat. Call it Keith Moon and it would be abbreviated to Keith, would that be acceptable to your wife?

How about Stanley that's quite a distinguished name for a kitten! Or maybe Colin?
Is it the Moon part or the Keith part that your wife objects to most? Or does she feel that kittens should have animal names and not people names??
If you want people to think your kitten is intelligent you could call it Pythagoras or Hypotenuse on the other hand if you want people to think its stupid you could call it Rodney or Stupid.
Or make a word up - one of ours is called Tixie Pieces just because it suits her.
If you want your kitten to be confused you could call it Mouse or Sparrow or something along those lines.
But we have always found that a kittens name evolves with the cat, Tixie Pieces started life as Edwina? and Blagg Wax started life as Margaret so I wouldn't worry too much about a name as it will grow to fit the cat anyway!

what to name your cat.... well thats totally up to you. i usually go with names you've never really heard of like Yaya (it means grandmother) or Ming (sun and moon) or Kong (like King Kong) :) i also had a siamese mix named klondike. ming and kong are black cats, yaya was a tabby. maybe you should try a name that doesnt quite fit them right that way its fun to play around with the names. My mother always said to me is "if the name sounds right when you shout it off the roof tops its a good name" Mings nickname is Ming-a-ling. Also a note you should know!!! cats usually connect faster with One syllable names AKA: Ming, Kong. haha. you could even name your kitty Sushi or something really strange. or if you wanna go with something more for a guy you could try something like Beamer, Comet. or just an old fashion name like Alfred, Benard. etc. etc. I wish you the best of luck on finding your kitty a name. it took me 2 days to figure out mings name, and a whole week to find out Kongs.
Bubyes!

why not? name the cat keith moon. call it what you want. my cats have multiple names. their given name, and what we call them, and they know and answer to both. of course, when you sing it in an annoying way, they tend not to like the name as much :-)

Why bother naming it anything, as soon as it sees what your neighbour will feed it behind your back the moggy will hot foot it over the fence and they'll rename Tiddles something else anyway
