No, not like humans can get from other humans.

Cats do not get the human influenza virus (flu), but some are infected with upper respiratory viruses which some term "cat colds". These are generally distinct from the human rhinovirus, or cold virus. Sneezing, nasal (nose) and ocular (eye) discharge may be associated with upper respiratory infections (bacterial, virus, or fungal). These signs can also be due to allergies, foreign material stuck in the nose (dust bunnies etc.) or in Persian cats (a short-nosed breed) due to the altered conformation of the nasal cavity and tear ducts.

Cats cannot get human viruses nor can we get cat viruses. They are "species specific" so that is not a problem.

Your cat's behavior suggests that something may be off with him. He must eat today and if he does not there could be serious consequences. We are looking at the weekend and that will mean an emergency vet so you might call your vet today to see if he thinks he should see the cat. Most vets are open till noon on Saturdays.

YES! My family has had this happen many times. A cat's immune system is very similar to a human's. My cats have caught colds and flu from us and have passed them right back again. The cat should recover on his own, but you may want to keep your distance because he will pass that cold back to you.

no not really. Sometimes my cat goes for three days without coming home for food. Take him to the vet.

not sure but its almost winter cats tend to sleep more. and if you notice any gunky stuff in your cats eyes(the corner of them) use a warm soft cloth and clean it out. it helps the "cold" from getting worse.

no, the virus is host specific, you can't catch a cold from your cat and your cat can't give you a cold.
