Of course...its offensive when the Quran is misquoted...however...its done very often...Those who have true faith and are true beliver would never use it that way. Please dont think that every Muslim does that...

The Bible and Quran are both open to many interpretations.
I'm more curious about why anyone persists in prejudice based beliefs just because a religious document says it's okay.
Do these people lack a personal moral compass?
Prejudice and discrimination simply are not acceptable regardless of one's religious faith. The world would be a much more peaceful place if everyone would take that into their hearts.

People do the same thing with the Bible too. Don't get upset, people just misquote things all the time to try to make their cause seem more valid than yours. Personally, I just stay away from that entire thing. there is no point in fighting a Holy war, especially when both sides are equally good, until the media decides who they will support and put an evil spin on one or the other.

Your point is well taken.Christians are the same way. That might have a lot to do with the Islamic radicals that are wreaking havoc among innocent people. That might also have a lot to do with that loud mouth pastor in Kansas at Westboro Baptist Church. When he does that, that makes all the churches look bad.Religious tolerance between faiths must be obtained and and kept as such, but my Holy Bible tells me otherwise. As we are going along in this world it has not lied to me yet.We all should take a more detailed look at what is going on in the world.

The same reason people take a Bible verse out of context. To get it to say what the want it to say.
They do the same with politics. The truth doesn't matter as much to these people as convincing others that they are right.
Also, many people are lazy. They take a quote from a site, unaware that the quote is taken out of context.

Because they have an agenda. They want to prove something -it doesn't matter if it is true or not (they believe it is).
You can do the same thing with any book. In the Bible, it says "Judas went out and hanged himself" and in another place it says "Go thou and do likewise." Makes as much sense as some of the out-of-context quotes I've seen!

anything that someone says about the Quran will seem out of context
because everyone has a personal interpretation of it
this doesnt mean one is right and the other wrong though

Ling Lee, it's no different when someone takes verses from the Bible and uses them out of Context.
Learn as much as you can from those that are truly knowledgeable. I don't believe Yahoo Answers is that place.

Because people are too lazy to actually read the Quran. They are biased and ignorant. Instead, they google what they think will help them in their misguided quest to devalue Muslims to the point of worthlessness.

Sorry to say that yes....in ayaa they take half of it and leave the other half...because some people take whatever they want and do it and telling you Allah said that but Allah didn't sdaid that..it is some of none unknowlage by the Koran and Allah's word and Prophet Mohamed's word...just choosing parts and leaving parts...and that's not right.
