For cooking I prefer the oven. Things brown better. I use the microwave to reheat leftovers. And just a word of warning: do not cook chicken in a microwave. It does not cook it thoroughly.

Microwaves are useful for devices for cooking and reheating some foods. Ovens cook better because you have more control over how much heat there is and where the heat is applied.

The bottom line is It takes a good cook to make great food. Good cooks use stoves and ovens more often than microwaves because they produce much better results especially for meats and breads or cakes.

The cook/chef makes the food really good, i.e. the recipe, technique and following the cooking method for the food/dish one is preparing. You can achieve good results with different cooking methods, but keep in mind, a microwave cooks food from the INSIDE out. You may not achieve the same resullts w/o rotating, and depends what you're cooking. Cake should not be prepared in a microwave, or anything you want crisped. You wouldn't want to make a pizza in a microwave.

Many cooks may poo poo using a microwave, but with some skill and experience, certain foods/dishes can be prepared sucessfully with good results, i.e. steaming corn (veggies), artichokes, melting chocolate, butter etc. if you're in a time crunch or don't have enough burner space.

Oven does the best

see a microwave cooks frmo the outside in, so its drying up the outside as it proceeds to cook the insid... and the oven from the inside out.... oven retains more juices since the inside is being "juiced" from the outside still being "raw" <> So, oven , unless its simple things like oatmeal or macaroni and stuff...

Microwave is better for heating up than cooking from scratch. Except when I brown hamburg, the microwave is better if you use a draining pan so the fat gets drained out.

oven, for sure. microwave is good for reheating of the good food you made in the oven. REHEATING in micro makes it taste like you just made it fresh.
