No answers of "eww clean your kitchen", okay? It IS clean. Orkin pest control has come to spray twice, I tie up my garbage in a double plastic bag and take it out every day, I put boric acid powder underneath the fridge and stove and even in some of the cabinets (I stopped using them because of the roaches). I also found lots of cracks and taped them shut. I see roaches stuck in the tape, it's disgusting! My apartment manager had the units next to me sprayed also, because I know they must be coming from my neighbors, but nothing has helped! I don't know what else to do they will not go away!!! And no, I can't move, I am a student right now so I won't have 3 times the rent anywhere.....

Until your landlord sprays the whole building a once, they will continue to move from one apartment to the other and back again. Talk to the landlord about the problem and if you get no satisfaction, then I would deposit your rent into an escrow account at the bank until he does something about it. You have the right to live in a home WITH-OUT bugs.

Do you live in Florida??? In FL, no matter how clean you are, roaches are just a part of life.

You could have an infestation of roaches in the walls that have been there long before you moved in - so don't feel bad.

I found that using a roach gel and putting it in EVERY nook and crany really helps. I use Combat roach gel. However, if you have pets, it can be dangerous for them, so avoid using it in places they come in contact with. Also, you can set down roach traps. What it does is sterilize the roaches... so, you might actually see little white roaches that are the babies of the "mama" roaches that ate the "trap food." They are steril and can't lay anymore eggs. (The first time I saw white roaches I thought they were little ghost roaches ;-)

Then, you can also put down a spray along the edges of your apt. AND outside.

Also, you probably know this already, but don't leave any food out. Wipe out and disinfect all your cupboards.

Good Luck

Get the roach baits. Boric acid works also. BUT in an apartment it is nearly impossible to get rid of roaches. The whole complex, not just your neighbors, needs to be treated and all units at the same time. Otherwise the roaches move from one unit to another.

I am very old school. I take caulking , shelf liner, and duct tape and seal every conceivable entrance for these little beasts. Have done it for over 20 years it is a huge undertaking but it works.
I will be moving soon. Before my boxes are unpacked. We will live picnic style until I am finished. I refuse to live with roaches!!

I will begin in the kitchen...caulking, using shelf liner in drawers , cabinets, around plumbing etc..and duct tape if necessary where all the cracks are around plumbing and in cabinets, I will check under carpet for cracks and caulk them..etc

Then I will move into the bathrooms...then LR...Bedrms..etc

As long as your neighbors are the problem, they will never go away.

Continue using the boric acid.

There is a cure for roaches, but you won't like it nor do I know how to get them, but house centipedes eat roaches. They look scary, and can run very fast, but they are harmless to people and they prefer to live their entire life inside your walls.

You can read more about them at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_centipede

You can also read a cheap way to make your own roach traps at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vegas_roach_trap

Also, if you use anything else besides boric acid, make sure it contains deltamethrin, as it's effective at roach killing.

Its got to be coming from surrounding apartments. A suggestion, put your food items like cereal and rice in rubbermade or tupperware bins get all cardboard out of the apartment. This is one of the downsides to apartment living sorry.
