I have been out of the dating scene for too long. I should take some time to get myself grounded but I want to go out as well. There is a woman I have been chatting with online and i can't get a read on her. I am very interested and would love to take it to the next step but am unsure of how she feels. I guess i have a 2 part question, How do I ask her without seeming desperate or pushy and what would be the perfect first date?

Well for the first date, if you know what types of things she likes like food and stuff she likes, add that into the mix of where you will take her. Without sounding desparate, just say to her "Hey would you like to go out or do something with me?"

Just ask her if she would consider going on a date with you. Be straightforward (we hate when you beat around the bush), but not pushy. If there is a genuine interest, she will more than likely take you up on your offer. Lastly, the perfect first date would be dinner at a nice restaurant. You'll have time to sit and talk face-to-face and it will ease any nervousness you may have by being in a public place. Good luck.
