I know sometimes they can hear you, even though you can't hear them, but even when you say 'tell me in a minute, I can't hear you' they keep going and expect an answer!

Because, while they may have heard you, they didn't listen. I get the same thing all the time. My husband hears better than I do, and he'll talk on the cell to me with his car radio blaring and the dishwasher going here, and when I say I can't hear him, he just repeats himself, until I say, look, I CAN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD YOU'RE SAYING then, he'll go, oh, ok, see you. (it wasn't that important, then, obviously!)

Are you deaf? If so, how do you know they are talking to you? If not, why do you care?
