How is charging someone "good for them"? All it ends up being is a whole bunch of paperwork, followed by a court date just so the DA can dismiss it anyway. In short, a whole lot of work for nothing. It's not like we have a quota of arrests to make or we get a bonus the more people we arrest. If people would just tell the police officers the "truth" and not THEIR version of the truth or not give the police officers a hard time while they are trying to find the truth, police officers wouldn't become so jaded with the quest for the "truth". And if you really want to point a finger at the screwed up part of the justice system, go sit in a court room and watch the wheels of justice spin. The cops do their job, its everybody else that lets the ball fall.

So far almost everyone here is anti police, but funny how in time of need the first person that is called to clear up the mess that is made is the police. I wonder if the police didn't arrest someone that is "involved" in a crime and then repeated the same thing or worst, would this question still appear here? Damn if we do and Damn if we don't. Most of the time we error on the side of caution in order to protect everyone including the same ones here that have never place themselves in the line of danger for others. The justice system is not perfect but i rather have this than being somewhere i am presumed guilty before, during, and after everything.

The personality profile of a police officer generally includes a desire whether conscious or subconscious to exert their will over others. They actually get satisfaction out of arrests whether warranted or not, they really don't care much about right and wrong.

I think the police are quick to come if they can tell right away that they will get results from their work. They can tell through experience.

If the police know they are going to arrest someone then they will show up in no time. It's money in their pockets.

I hear you...

Why are cops and judges so "righteous" when it comes to arresting citizens and punishing those who lie but it is OK for them to cover for each other when they abuse their authority and violate civil rights?

Then you post your concern on a blog and are victimized all over again by the abuser mentality... ::sigh::
