As a guy wavy hair on a girl just makes me smile from ear to ear. Keep it the way it is.

I have wavy hair too, I've tried having it relaxed ( goes back to being wavy after a week!) , I had it straightened but it dries out the hair but it looks nice and clean but when I noticed that I have more hair falling out , I decided to live with wavy hair.
anyway, to make this story short, grow your hair, then get a layered cut , so that it wont look like a mushroom.
Long, layered wavy hair looks pretty :-)

Do you know how many women spend tons of money and time in beauty salons trying to get wavy, full-bodied hair!?
Once you start putting chemicals on your hair (whether to straighten or to curl), you could create a whole host of problems that require special conditioning and treatment to maintain the health of your hair!
I'm very big on natural whenever possible (for a start, it's usually a lot easier than fussing with rollers, gels, endless blow drying, etc.). My daughter has wavy, shoulder length hair (so she can wear it up for special occasions) which is cut in layers framing her face. It moves beautifully and is basically "wash 'n' wear".
I bet if you got a dynamite haircut you'd be happy with your waves (and they'd look GREAT!). Find a good salon (ask friends -- even strangers on the street whose hair you like -- where they go) and get professional advice.
Good luck!

I would just buy a straightner, get a Chi, they're the best. And with your hair being wavy, it won't look good unless you take care of it, if it's frizzy then that may be why they're telling you this. You need to scrunch it, mix water and moose in a spray bottle, and when its wet spray that in it and scrunch it, then mist with hairspray. But yeah you should straighten it only every now and then, it's something different to try. Good luck

just wear it naturally wavy. wavy hair is SEXY if styled properly and you dont have to pay a lot for maintenance. if you do straightening it will damage your hair and your pocket because it would cost you as much as $1,000 the first time and get it touched up every 3 months. just get it layered by a GOOD hair stylist who knows how to cut layers on wavy hair. then get yourself a good mousse for wavy hair. get a hair diffuser (see link below). after you wash your hair, wrap your hair with towel and squeeze to take out excess water ( squeeze, dont rub or your hair will get frizzy) then put mousse the size of a golf ball, distribute evenly. comb your hair to style. attach the diffuser to your hair dryer and diffuse (dry) while scrunching lightly.... you wouldnt believe how SEXY your hair will look and you didnt even have to spend $20...

always go natural. if you think your hair looks good that way then keep it that way. and besides once you get your hair relaxed, you wont have your natural waves for a very long time. it also drys out your hair. so stick to your natural hair.
