I would grab a container of orange juice and a granola bar or fig newtons.

I'm going to go with beverages, first.. Milk and juice, probably, and good juice -- orange or grapefruit; not a "fruit drink."
One of those nasty-tasting protein bars might do in a pinch. Those and the granola bars are usually just chocolate bars with junk added, though; it depends what variety they had. A small bag of nuts, nothing 'honey-roasted,' would be okay.
Sometimes you see little tins of fruit salad -- I'd grab one and see about rinsing off the heavy syrup and just eating the froot, though having to rinse it off in the bathroom of a 'genuine rural gas station dump' might create its own health problems.
The 'muffins' sometimes seen are usually little sugar-and-grease bombs, so -- avoid. If you weren't worried about waste, I'd see about finding a loaf of whole-wheat bread. You did say rural, and those usually have a few grocery items, not just chips and chocolate bars. But milk-eggs-bread basics only.
Okay. Milk, juice, and a couple of slices of whole wheat. That gives you sugar, protein, and something to fill up your stomach a bit; it'd keep you going.

I would say a granola bar. When I'm in this situation I just get a cup of coffee and deal with the low blood sugar attack - but I think women and men differ in that respect. We're used to starving ourselves, and men aren't

Eating chicken is okay since it contains protein. Just remember to remove the skin because that's where the fat is. Fizzy drinks usually have high sugar content, even the diet ones. As long as you take it moderately and balance it with drinking a lot of water, it should not be a problem.

I always think a Payday at least has some redeeming value. Maybe an orange juice (100% juice, not the fake kind). Or some other kind of juice like V8. Maybe wheat thins that are low in fat but whole wheat.

I'd go for the beef jerky with a single serving size of orange juice.
If I couldn't help myself I'd have to wash it down with a snickers bar chaser.

Probably a turkey sandwich if they have them delivered & keep them in a cooler. The next best thing is probably trail mix, maybe baked potato chips. Good luck, something is better than nothing.

I don't know where you live, but where I live, my gas station has sandwiches similar to egg, sausage and cheese sandwiches. If they don't have this where you are, then buy a candy bar with lots of peanuts in it, or ever a bag of peanuts, if they have it.
