He has it only at night. He is two years old, and has a mouth full of teeth, so I don't think it can be a teething fever. Can you give me some insight on what you think it is? And please I know to ask the dr. so could you leave that out of your answers!!! Thanks for your help.

First does he have any other symptoms? Tummyache, headache, achy, runny nose (clear or yucky), cough, going pee pee alot (pain with urination or smell), Any other outward signs of illness. If not then just chop it up either as some little virus his body is trying to fight off or jst one of those things. Sometimes our bodies will run slight temps. Also how high is it? If it is below 100* he probably just fighting off a virus. There is nothing you can do for viruses, but lots of rest and time. Keep an eye on him and if it continues more than 3 days or gets worse then call your pediatrician. Has he had any shots recently? That can cause slight fever sometimes. Also does he go to daycare or been around other children lately?

Everyone's temperature varies throughout the day. If he's not exhibiting any other symptoms and the rise in temperature occurs at night then it is probably just his body's normal rhythm. I'd probably make sure that he was getting plenty of fluids and monitor him closely for a few days. If he doesn't get worse or have new symptoms then I'd stop worrying but do mention it to the doctor the next time you visit.

Take a look at this:

http://familydoctor.org/x2575.xml

...and if you're gonna ask a bunch of people on the internet to diagnose a medical condition, you'll need to provide more details.

P.S. "Remember, fevers are your body's natural response to infection, and not necessarily a sign that something serious is taking place."

BUT YOU CANNOT KNOW FOR SURE WITHOUT SPEAKING WITH YOUR DOCTOR

what is his temp. it could be up from his bath being to warm or being over dressed for bed and your home being too warm. if its under 103 degrees just give him tylenol. at two he still gets the infant strength read the bottle in the store to be sure. call your childs doctor and ask them or call your local hospitals ask a nurse. if the fever is his only sign then its nothing

has he had a cold recently? is his ear hurting? anything like this could cause a low grade fever so for now give him calpol and if it is not gone in a maximum of 3 days take him to your doctors. my mum has stuck by this rule with all of us and it has always worked but if he is in pain then take him sooner as i am sure you already know.
good luck
