There was a whisky ad based on this some years back.
Fly lands in glass of Macallan; somebody points it out. Guy fishes out the fly, which, after a few minutes, flies off no worse for the wear.
The concluding line was something like "Never the Macallan hurt a fly, and never a fly hurt the Macallan."
I'm going with that, albeit without the poofy puffery of thinking my drink quite so superior. The booze should be de-contaminating both the bug and me. And I'd feel like a wuss asking for a new one.

I guess i have to be completely honest on this one. If it was just one or two little things, I would pick it out and drink it up. Because i probably eat a lot of little bugs when I'm outside cutting the grass, or at some kind of outdoor sports game, and they fly into your mouth. So really whats the difference if i pick a dead one out of my drink and drink it. If i pick it out at least I'm not knowingly eating it.

If it's from a cheap cafe, I'd remove the insect and drink it. If it's at a pricier place, I'd complain with a disgusted expression on my face, and probably get the meal for free.

Depends on what I'm drinking. If I am at a bar and I am quite a few bourbons in, I probably won't even notice it, but if i am at a restaurant and i am drinking water, i will probably ask for a new one!

It depends...If I was indoors and it was winter,I'd return it.
If I was outdoors and it was summer throw it away and buy another one.
If it was the weekend and I was at the bar...he'd have to make friends with the worm!

Id remove it, as long as its tiny, no big deal, if it were a fly, heck yeah I'd make them make me another one. And I'd leave the fly in there to prove it, and if they complained about it, I'd ask them to drink it.

Return it and ask for another one! You paid for it so you deserve a drink that is "bug" free.
