You can straighten your hair chemically just as you would with haircolor or a perm, about every 6 weeks or so. Yes, doing anything chemically altering to your hair will produce some type of damage, but as long as you condition and take it easy on the heated styling tools you will be fine. I usually have my clients call in when they start to see some regrowth, at the scalp, and I get them in for a touch up. So when you start to see the curls growing back in, it is time for another straightener. If you are talking about using a heated styling tool, then you can straighten with a straightener everyday. They make heat protecting styling aids, I recommend Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, that will keep your hair healthy and undamaged from the heat of the styling tool. I hope I was able to answer your question well enough so that you may make the best decision for your hair.

If you're talking 'bout a chemical straightener/relaxer, I'm told by my hairdresser that it should be straightened every six weeks. Each time you straighten it get the ends clipped to prevent the progress of split ends.

Also, relaxed hair should be steam treated every two weeks to keep the hair and scalp healthy and prevent breakage. You don't have to go to a hair dresser to steam it. Just purchase a steaming conditioner (like Motions CPR) and get a personal hair dryer - the portable version of the ones found in salons. They're not too too expensive, and would come up cheaper in the long run than going to the hairdresser every 2 weeks.

It relies upon on the physique of recommendations of straightening one have have been given. Incase of temperory straightening, hair continues to be right now basically till the subsequent wash. Incase of parmanent hair straightening, u could choose for rebonding basically while your new hair grows as lots by way of fact the version starts finding obvious. Like I even have shoulder length chemically dealt with parmanent straightened hair and that i usully choose for rebonding technique after 5-6 months. yet greater substantial element is to take suitable care of the hairs and not indulge lots in those straightening mechanisms that could injury the hair in the long-term premier to over-dryness, split ends and acute hairfall on the later diploma.

I will advice you to do it when you go out because even though you spray your hair with a protector it will still damage it a little bit so you shoudn't straighten your hair all the time but when you do straighten your hair spray a heat protector.
Wish this helps

I straighten my hair nearly everyday, with a hair dryer and a flat iron, as a result I have fairly dry hair so I use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner plus a heat defense leave-in conditioner. L'Oreal makes a good leave-in, it comes in a bright pink bottle. I don't like chemical straighteners they tend to over dry your hair.

It really depends on your hair type; if you have thin hair, you don't have to straighten it for very long, so you use less heat and such. But if your hair is thick, then it takes longer and uses more heat which causes more damage faster. Try to use Herbal Essances Straightening products and see if that makes it straighter, then you can use your straightener less.

I try to straighten mine just once a week, I find that if you use heat protection spray and a leave-in conditioner as well as a regular conditioner it makes a big difference.

your hair will become damaged anyway but try using heat defence treatments every time you use irons and you can lessen the damage you do,also get your hair trimmed often.
