India doesn't have zip codes. Here it is six digit PIN codes. Zip codes (five digit numbers, if I'm not wrong) are applicable for postal addresses in the US only. If forms and applications (the printed ones) allow you to write the Indian equivalent of the US term, then put your PIN code in place of zip. Some online application forms automatically change from zip to PIN, when you select India from the drop down menu meant for the name of the country. Those which don't aren't meant for India.

you have a different Zip code(a.k.a Pin Code) for each state in india and they are formed of 6 digits unlike US where the Zip code is formed of 5 digits.
US ZIP Code looks something like 12345
India Pin code looks something like 123456

to find what you are looking for

Zip code depend on the state that you live in e.g Karnataka has zip starting with 5 and Tamil Nadu 6 and so on...go ahead and search for the appropriate zip code in the telephone directory and fill the form accurately

zip code.. zip code.. US it is only for mailing propose.... if you go google write any address and city it zip code auto comes ... zip code always follow by address US has mechine read mailing system so mechine only read zip .... thats all... but i am not sure india has any mailing zip ..
