Im no doctor but I had the same thing... if your periods have not started yet it may be the onset of them even though othing has come of it over a year, alot of girls get phantom pains during puberty. Also ask for a blood test and urine test to test EVERYTHING I dont want to scare you but I had pains for years and my doctor said it was nothing so I moved doctors as there was obviously something and they have found out what it was ( I wont tell you what it is as I don't want to scare you and I'm sure it wont be this in your case) Or if you are stressed with anything or have a from of depression (remember you dont have to be depressed to have depression!) you may just have whats called phantom pains from that. These are simply unexplainable pains which arent there because anythings wrong but they make you feel grotty.

Sounds like what happened to me. I was going back and forth between tons of test, before one doctor said. Let''s try an Ultrasound. Sure enough, they found 2 really large stones in my gallbladder.
I had them removed with laproscopy and no pain since.
FYI, the pain is horrible, so bear with your husband. It was tough on my wife because I was up between 3-8 hours per night in awful pain. I was grouchy the next day because I hadn't slept. I lost 30 lbs in 2 months. I looked good, but knew something was wrong.
Seriously, suggest an Ultrasound at your small hospital.

I would get yet another opinion. When I was pregnant with one of my kids I would get these excruiating attacks of pain through out my chest , back , stomach. They caused insomia and diarrhea and vomitting. I had an ultrasoud done on my gallbladder to check for stones but couldnt find anything. Well my attacks kept happening so the doc did the ultrasound again and indeed find stones. Long story short, get a third opinion and go with that

You need a ct scan to rule out a mass in Pancreas. You also need a detailed blood exam.If all else is negative,a PET scan may help.To rule out cancer is a priority here.

Is he on any medications? It could be a side effect of certain medicines. Is it only after he eats certain foods? If so it could be a food allergy.

I would think the doctors know best, but ask about his appendix, an intestinal blockage or colin cancer. Good luck
