I worked with a lady who had/has sickle cell several years ago. She was about 30 at the time, and she's still alive. There are medications, treatments, and yes if you aren't on top of things, you can die young, and sometimes it still happens, even when someone is careful.
Talk to your doctor, look into all your options, do things to strengthen your immune system. Regular exercise, supplements, frequent handwashing, drinking enough water, all things all of us should do to minimize illness, but even more important when you are dealing with a lifelong disease.
Here is a link for the American Sickle Cell Anemia Association's website. They have lots of good information.

To day very few people die of any decease.

The advances in medicine are performing miracles.

Google and world wide web both are at the top of this page, type sickle cell in the box and press go button.

I think that, if you think you have it, then please see a doctor there are tests and remedies both.

I believe that information that you have is wrong, again see a doctor, see a sickle cell specialist.

I believe you are referring to "Sickle Cell anaemia".
