Have you had such times before? Has there been any change in your eating or sleeping habits? You mentioned not working out; are you not taking pleasure in other things that you usually enjoy. If any of these answers are Yes, you may be depressed. Has anyone in your family ever suffered from periods of depression? Committed suicide? You should know that depression is no longer a condition a person must "learn to live with." It's a treatable illness. If you think you may be depressed, you should see a COMPETENT physician -- not one who's going to pat you on the back and say, "Buck up." Don't miss out on your college fun or anything else good in your life. If yours doldrums continue, or have continued, for more than two weeks, try to find the energy to get some help.

Sounds like you may have depression. Talk to your doctor. College is hard but don't be afraid of failure as that's how we learn. I had to retake my second year in Nursing school. I failed but the second time around I did so much better and understood so much more. Most of us go to college to have better lives, make more money. Depression can make you feel like every task it a mountain you have to climb over. You don't feel like doing anything. Your doctor can help. Contact me through this site if you need to talk more... okay...well if you exercise a lot and you suddenly stop, all of your body becomes unmotiviated. So start there. Get out and do whatever you used to do, and i swear you will feel re-energized.Now as for cleaning...thats just not fun most of the time, so I'm not surprised you suddenly found a disintrest, but you need to get it done, so push yourself into doing it. Just get off your butt, no matter how much it sucks....you'll find your motivation somewhere...I promise.

You might need to see a doctor. Could be bad diet.
On the other hand, I don't know how many years you have been studying, maybe you need to take a year off studies, and do a physical job. - any job. After a year, you would be able to go back to school with more motivation.

If you are truly afraid of failing then I don't think that just letting yourself go is going to do you much good. Think about your future, if you can see yourself living in a minimum wage house, overweight and unhappy then keep doing what you are doing......if not then get off your butt and find your motivation again!
