All you hear is static. We have cable on both tv's, but the big screen is giving off the signal. It has the guide plus. We can watch movies thru the DVD with no problem. The cable line is directly in the back, it was doing fine til now. I still get cable but the sound is terrible and the pictures are a little staticky. What can do? Please help.

ps- we also try to reset the tv to for audio.

Check that the TV audio is not set to SAP, or secondary audio programming. The SAP setting is where you'll find the Spanish audio track for a lot of programs. Some stations, like TNT, use SAP for descriptive audio for the visually impaired. If there's no special audio track, the output is either a somewhat muted version of the main track or just static, like what you're getting right now.

The SAP setting will only work on signals coming through your TV tuner. The DVD should work fine because its audio feed is not coming through the coax, but through those RCA jacks.

If the cable TV feed is more staticky than before, try making sure the connection from the cable box to the TV is OK. Also, make sure your connection between the cable box and the wallplate hasn't been played with.

Hope this helps.

In your menu, select the Audio Icon. Find the Stereo/Sap setting and set it to Stereo, NOT SAP....that's "Separate Audio Program" and that's why you get Spanish on some and nothing but noise on others (No spanish programming)
