I figured I would have better luck asking the people who actually live in the UK this question.
What the heck would people in the US know about it?
So, do you drink tea as much as we drink coffee?

It varies - if I tell you I only have about 5-7 cups a day, you might not think that is much, but......
My mug holds 1 litre :) It looks more like a teapot wihout a spout or lid.
So, around 5 cups - or about 1 ½ gallons :)

Im British but I only drink coffee usually 5 or 6 cups a day.
Ive just got got back from the states and I noticed if you ask for tea you have to say hot tea or you get iced tea.
The tea drinkers here do drink gallons of the stuff. As we say in Britain 'everything stops for tea'.

It's the people in the UK's (it's not Pc to say brit now) answer to everything DO YOU WANT A CUP OF TEA one lump or two with that.. So yes it's tea as often as you drink coffee

I myself lurrrve Coffee and don't drink tea (only have tea when I am hung over and I'm happily munching down a fried breakfast - gotta have tea with a fry up!), but my fella drinks tea quite a bit. One in a morning, one at lunchtime and about 5 once he has got home from work. So roughly 7 cups of tea per day!

I drink about two to four cups a day, maybe four to six at the weekends. You just have to have one when you get up in the morning, two if you're not in a hurry, then another one when you get home from work. And don't forget tea time on the weekends, after you finish all the chores and that. Nothing beats a cuppa...

I drink about 4 a day (mmmmmm), but lots of people drink lots of coffee too! O and if a flatmates had a bad day, the first question is always 'would you like a cup of tea?' Its only right.

Well technically Im not from the UK Im from Ireland but I'd drink about 10 cups in work and then at the weekends it could be about 2 over the whole weekend!

i drink between 2-5 a day depending on whats happening, how i feel and what food im eating. I totally agree with the fried breakfast needing a cup of tea thing, its the perfect combination!

I think this has to be one of the worst generalisations going...it's like saying Russians drink Vodka all the time! I drink maybe one cup a day but usually go without. As a rule I'll drink water over anything else.

On average during a day and I get up at 6 am and go to bed after midnight I drink at least eight mugs of tea. A mug measures approx ¾ of a pint.
