It is my understanding that you cannot unless you dismiss the 13 and refile under 13.

Yes! You will need to contact your original attorney and he/she can file the new paperwork to convert you from ch 13 to ch 7.

Beaware that they will charge you a fee! Most will charge a filing fee and a standard attorney fee. If your attorney is on the up and up, you may get lucky and only pay the filing fees.

Think about $900-1000 range to do this from start to finish.
