good question

here's the long answer

it is a last measure. rite aide whole source vitamins and minerals and calcium carbonate. generic is fine. beware of vitamins with huge values like 300%. some can actually do damage. moderation is the key to all things and excess of anything is bad.

the vegetables have new substances we need discovered all the time. not in any even the most expensive vitamins.
you also need the fiber.
and vitamins and mineral s work together so you may not still get what you need.
and if you are not eating you r fruit and veggies your most likely eating crap you shouldn't be putting in your body.
prepared foods have much cooked out and chemicals put in.
even if you eat the veggies tempura (in canola or olive oil heated to 350 or under because of toxic chemicals at higher heat) better but if your not getting your leafy greens and i don't mean white iceberg with no nutrition, and m ore you'll pay later.
i lam correct weight in good shape as possible look much younger than my age despite injury other disability and homelessness cause i eat my fruit and veggies, whole grain(not wheat or white bakery) and get few fats and protein through lean fish poultry and beans meat natural peanut butter etc...

it takes about ten trys to get used to a new food. eat a little or at least eat veggie soups tomato or veggie based, not creamed.

eat fro life and health and you'll live longer and healthier and look better.

Not really . You can substitute vit.C to help ward off scurvy but you will still miss all the phytochemicals not yet in vitamins that
do wondrous things for your health and well being. my advice is
learn to eat veggies and some fruit some of them can protect
you from cancer and add a multitude of other benefits ..........

It's better to eat the vegetables, no multivitamin can completely replace the nutrition you get from real food.

Just take a multivitamin once a day. Also try to eat more vegetables, they're good for you, you'll feel better.

I think you'd get the vitamins but miss out on other important elements like antioxidants and fiber.
