I've had the same trouble with my hair, and after doing quite a bit of research I've found out that brittle, dry, slow growing hair (and nails) is the result of a biotin deficiency. If you are constantly processing your hair lay off the chemicals for awhile. If not then I would try the biotin tablets usually sold at any GNC or vitamin center. Just ask for the hair and nail formulas. If it's not biotin don't buy it. It comes in a few different strengths, and don't let the price sway you from not buying it. In total it's not any more expensive than the the higher priced shampoos that contains tons of alcohol (awful stuff!) I've been using it for a couple of months and have seen a GREAT difference in both my hair and nails. Good Luck!

Hot oil treatment is the best. Mix Olive oil, almond oil and a little coconut oil. Warm it and apply using your fingers and massaging for atleat 10 minutes. Wrap a wet hot towel and shampoo after an hour. Do not try different shampoos every time. The chemicals in them harm the hair. Try shampoos as Dove, Sauve or Clairol. Apply egg once in two weeks/month. Alwys wash yur hair either with cold or luke warm water. Hot water makes the hair brittle and split faster.

Biolage Smoothing Shampoos and Conditioner. They are great products as they are for dry, frizzy hair. At any rate, it wil definitely make your hair feel better. I color mine every 6 weeks, so I need all the help I can get. On top of that use Sunflower Leave-In Spray Conditioner afterwards (from Back to Basics). Good stuff.

Olive oil makes your hair soft. Apply olive oil thoroughly from the roots to tip of your hair five or 10 minutes before you wash your hair.
Mix aloe vera gel with castor oil and olive oil and massage it on your scalp. Wash with mild shampoo after half an hour. This promotes hair growth and your hair becomes soft and shiny.
Henna is known to make hair silky, but many complain it dries the scalp. Mix some milk, water and two egg yolks with henna and apply it on your hair. This makes your hair soft and manageable.

And of products, I tried Dove Leave In Milk for hair protection! It is really great!

Mayo...you apply to your hair, leave in for 5 - 10 min and
then rinse out. Do this Monthly..
Or VO5 hot oil treatments, I have long hair and
use 2) per time for 2) times per month.
Other options:
When using conditioner, ALWAYS rinse out with
the coldest water you can stand... It will leave hair
smoother and cleaner. Hot water is not good for
your hair.

It depends a lot on your hair texture. I have fine, thick, hair and I use Pantene Smooth & Sleek. It also depends on how much money you want to spend. I refuse to spend more than 20 dollars a month on appearance when I can spend it on something fun.
