Some details of circumstances too (if you can), please. "This was when me Dad got fired," "two days before graduation and getting a real job," etc. And if it's not obvious, try to throw in some description of how you made it. The price of it at the time you had it would be good, too.

Pronghorn antelope. When I was unemployed for quite a while, I was given antelope and I used it when I ran out of the deer they gave me, too.

Deer and elk are both tasty even without special steps. Antelope is..... well, it's only fit for dog food. You have to be desperate to eat antelope. Even then, it's best used as hamburger in chili or in sloppy joes to kill the taste. I know there are ways to mariniate it, but I never found a good way that I could afford when I'm so poor I have to eat antelope.

On the good side, when I finally got desperate enough to use the food cupboard I scored a buffalo roast. The gal apologized up one side and down the other for not having beef while all I wanted to do was grab that meat and look for more. If beef is a 10 on the tastiness scale, buffalo is an eleven. I made that roast last for a week and enjoyed every bite.

Yeah. I ate Breaded and Fried Spam. It was totally disgusting. I got it free from a food pantry. I had a car accident and was out of work supporting 2 little kids only three weeks after a divorce. It was some tough times. We all pulled through. Now I'm just complaining about how my current job will never pay me enough for what I do there. That's life.

Well these foods don't normally fall into the disgusting catagory, but when you live on them for 6 months they BECOME disgusting. I was in a dead end job that didn't pay much and until I found something better I lived on tuna fish and macaroni and cheese. Both really cheap and you can stretch them into 2 meals. I can't hardly bring myself to eat them today, even though it's been over 11 years since I had to eat them every day.

On a dare in eighth grade I bit (as in sunk my teeth into) a liver from a fetal pig that my classmate crew (of four) became dissecting. I nonetheless keep in mind the style (formaldehyde, possibly some urine, (not something i'd do back)

When I was in college, a friend of mine had a Sam's Club membership and snuck me in. I bought a whole case of little individual tuna cans, and a ton of Lik-M-Aid. My roommate hated me for the tuna smell since I'd eat it straight out of the can and it smelled up the room. My dormmates hated the smell of the cans in the trash. And all that sugar helped me write a LOT of papers!

To this day I hate both.

I remember when I was younger and my mom was dating all of these different men and I wouldn't have any food to eat so i would make potato chip sandwiches on bread because i had no meat.i used to eat ramen noodles all the time and left overs every day til they were gone.i would search for change on the street and buy a 99 cent sandwich from fast food.i would eat samples at the grocery store and steal food from friends houses when they weren't looking.

While stationed in Germany, I went to France, and had grasshoppers. Those things were the most disgusting food i have ever tasted in my life. I tried them not on a dare, but to experience different foods.

I was unemployed for awhile and while waiting for a check to clear I ate plain pasta (no sauce, no butter). And before I forget, no meat either !!!!!!!!!! I had 2 words for it -- totally gross!
