Think of the early stages of child developement 1 single cell turns into 2 then 4 then 8 then 16 ect. each cell is a galaxy that is seperating. Scientist think these Galaxies are colliding, but thats NOT true, they are seperating not unlike cellualar division, as the universe grows the child grows. I know this will not make sense to some, thats OK.

i thought the 'big bang' theory explained how universe started.
Universe can't GROW like a human being. I am not sure if you are familiar with how the cells in human grow. When we eat, the molecules from the food gets digested and broken down to smalled molecules that make up the DNA. When the cell wants to multiply, it will take up these molecules and make up another DNA and hence the cell devides and has the RESOURCES to multiply.
The universe started with 'big bang'. From the sound of it sounds to me like the thing exploded and the galaxies are the remains of the explosion. Think of the universe as explosion of a bomb in slow motion. All the bits and pieces (i.e. galaxies and stars) are slowing moving out.

To the born again christian, you really need to get your theories straight. Evolution applies to the development of life into other life. It says nothing about the origin of life. And as to the question, this isn't an accurate view at all. As has been pointed out, the zygote takes in nutrients the mother ingested to get material to divide. It's not a self-contained system that spontaneously grows.

Da universe formed by an explosion, sucka. Mass was concentrated in a single point and a chemical reaction caused an explosion that made the universe begin to expand. Galaxies are not separating, they grouped together thanks to gravity.
The universe is expanding, but it's not multiplying like cells, sucka!

Evolution is voodoo science that has never been proven.
Life can't evolve from non-life, so how did that very first life form come into existence? Evolution says it evolved, but since it can't evolve from non-life, the theory/GUESS of evolution is proven false.
