I never ever said anything disparaging against any other religion, and I never would. And I never mentioned Satan. Maybe YOU should read more closely. I do not at all get freaked out by people who aren't my religion. My brother is an athiest, my other brother is converting to some Indian religion of his wife (I can't pronouce it), and my husband is hard-core Catholic. Our son speaks openly with all of them, and I am so happy for that because it makes him a more interesting, informed individual. I was questioning why people feel the need to SINGLE OUT Chrisitanity as bad. Why didn't you mention the other prominant religions? It's always Chrisitanity taking the hit. That is my point - NOT that you should raise your kid Chrisitian, NOT that shouldn't shouldn't beleive what you beleive, NOT that I want to convert you to Christianity. And for people who don't think Islam gets taught in schools - open up your kids World History book.

Ummm, perhaps you should read my question again, you replied before I added any detail, I DID NOT mention Christianity once (until my later detail when I said if my child chose that it'd be fine), I said I dont want to force any religion on my child (I meant my religion but you took it as meaning Christianity obviously)
And your the one that said I should hang a dead goat and pictures of the devil... there is no devil in Paganism, there is in Christianity and Satanism, which is why i assumed you had a nature based religion mixed up with some spin off of Christianity.
And who mentioned anything about Islam? Look at the bashing that religion is getting at the minute, and you think Christianity is the only religion being bashed???? Plus your rude, ignorant comments were clearly a having a go at paganism, we've never been persecuted for our beliefs now have we???!

The world is geared to bring about conflict, the best you can do is rise above the urge to make everyone understand where you are coming from, because lets face it, there cannot be light without the dark. Knock, & the door shall be opend to you, seek & you shall find. These are the days when good is called bad, & right is called wrong. However I would point out that the term "Christian" is yet another adaption to an original term, in another language.

Oh geez. You don't think that they teach anything about Christianity in schools? No they never talk about Joan of Arc, The Holy Grail, ummm Valentines Day... SAINT Valentine. The point is that Christianity is all over our school systems. And yes you did bash the girl asking about wiccan items.
Most of the worlds history is based on religious beliefs so to not include the history of these beliefs in school would be like leaving out the truth of Human history! However they do not teach the kids to practice these beliefs... just where the beliefs came from and how they have affected the world.

No, honey. If you do not think in God, then you're both atheist or agnostic. Atheist manner you think there may be NO God, agnostic manner you think you can't turn out there's a God, however you can't turn out there isn't. According on your ideals, you make a decision what you're. But don't forget, simply given that you do not think within the equal faith as your mother and father does not imply you are not able to have a faith. There are many different religions available in the market to prefer from.

Agreed. I think that's the master plan--unfortunately. Of course I'm aware Christians (so-called), have done evil things in the name of religion, but EVERY religion has experienced that.
The difference is, whether it's the doctrine that enforces it. The bible doesn't condone anything sinister, whereas "other" religious texts reinforce these ideas.

It's called a backlash. Everyone that isn't a Jerry Faldwell Fundie is retaliating for them trying to turn this country into a Theocracy.
That's all it is.

Thank you it's about time someone else said it! I was just discussing this same thing with my husband yesterday. It's always Christianity that takes the hit, Christianity and Judaism.
