Maybe you should find someone closer to your age. When you're 17, a five year age difference is huge.

Honey, at this stage in life the age gap between you is huge.
You relate and experience life on a very different level. And unless you're very mature, or she is extremely immature, it is unlikely that she will take an interest in you.
Much of dating at your age involves activities. The type of activities she probably enjoys, such as dancing, clubbing, drinking, etc, will be off limits to you because of the legal drinking age.
Sure, you can take her to dinner and a movie, or a walk on the beach or through the park (woof!) but repeating these activities will start to become boring. And ultimately, where else can you go? The high school dance?
I can't give you any tips that will make her attracted to you. For all intensive purposes, she's a teacher at your school, and she would ruin her career and her reputation if she got involved with you. Not only that, you're jail bait.
The best thing you can do for her, and for herself, is to put her out of your mind, move on and find someone closer to your age group to persue a relationship with.

The best thing to do is to be yourself. There is nothing worse then trying to put on a show or act like something your not. As a woman that would turn me off if a guy did that. Just be nice, and act like a respectable young man. Most of all just be down to earth. You'll do fine. Just try to talk with her and ask her about herself. Let her do all the talking and make sure you let her feel like your very interested in what she's saying. Good luck!!!

I'm sure your fantasies are tantalizing. But at 17, you'll do better seeking a girl closer to your age. It's not impossible for there to be an age difference between partners. But when both are older, it works out. I'm afraid she'll be just pleasantly amused at your attentions. Look elsewhere.

With all due respect to you, I doubt that there is much chance that you can say or do anything to "get" her....
Not that you should not try...
Your competition probably includes men in their 20's, 30's, 40's and 50's who own businesses and collect rare automobiles...

Maybe you should wait until you are 18 before going after someone that is older than you. Try some girls your own age.

Just be yourself. Introduce yourself as who you are. Don't pretend to be something just because you think she might like it. You will be surprised at how women respect honesty.
