Can't quite nail down the purpose of a dream. They are interpreted in many ways. (past, present, repressed feelings, past lives, television, trauma exposure, abusive past.......)There are people who study and measure dreams. There are medications to help decrease the frequency and severity of the dream.
My recommendation it to go to a therapist. Talk with them about your faceless dreams. They should be able to help if not refer you. Good luck

Sometime I have similar dreams. I can't see the face but I can "feel" who the person is. I think that is a clue to what is going on in my subconscious mind.

It could be a couple of things: Repressed memories from this life or a past life. This faceless person could also be an aspect of yourself that you do not like.
Try hynotherapy to see if more stuff comes up for you to solve this mystery.

I agree with Rico, your subconscience is trying to tell you something. I don't think there is someone trying to kill you, but it could be a decision you made ( or about to make) that causing you trouble. Or it could be someone close to you that you don't trust.
