i'm a student in a university and the only thing that they allow in our hostels are jug kettles. no microwave, no toaster,,, nothing but a jug kettle. i was wondering if i can cook anything in a jug kettle BESIDES water... i'm so sick of eating outside and so i thought i could try using my jug kettle for cooking purpose. is there any recipes i can do that's easy, fast and does not need frying, baking, toasting etc...?i'm really desperate. feel free to share your cooking tips with me!! thank you!! :)

If I were you, I'd keep my jugs away from any boiling kettle! Good lord, you could seriously burn yourself. Just think of the scarring!

Just making a sandwich sounds a whole lot safer to me, and may assauge your hunger pangs.

While college was a long time ago, and I'm not quite sure what a jug kettle is. I assume it's like a tea kettle, and I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to put anything in them but water. But you could make ramen or soup. (Once you add the boiling water they heat up themselves.)

Or the throwback to college...do you have an iron? You can make grilled cheese sandwiches with an iron. I'm not kidding!

YES. But make sure the water is boiling and stays boiling once you add the pasta to the water. If the water cools down too much and does not come back to the boil, then it takes a long time to cook and absorbs too much water and gets soft. I have even made Pasta over boiling water over an open campsite fire. The water works the hotter then better
