No pain medication? When I've had root canals, the dentist usually fixed me up with some extra strength ibuprofin (400 mg), but the pain usually goes away within a couple of days. Call your dentist if you are concerned. There may be something else going on.

You should not be experiencing pain. A root canal site is sometimes a bit sore for a day, but not painful. Sounds like you may have an abcess or infection. Get back to your dentist and get it checked out! I've had several root canals and have not needed any pain medication and I'm a wimp!

Sweetie, why in the world are you in so much pain? I have had many root canals and never experienced any pain afterwards! In fact it always felt so much better.
I think that you should call that dentist and tell them how much pain you are in! It is their responsibility to give you something for the pain! Insist on it.
Take care and I hope you feel better!
Blessings

Contact your dentist IMMEDIATELY!!!!
As previously mentioned you could have a infection. Our when they filled the tooth after the root canal, the filling could be sitting high and need a little trimming. This could cause a sore jaw over time and eventually cause your bite pattern to shift.

the dentist told my husband to take 2 tylenol and 1 ibuprofin at the same time.
You can also call your dentist and tell him how much pain you're in and he might prescribe something for you.
Try a salt-water rinse as well.

It shouldn't hurt that much after the first day. Sore, yes.
I would call the dentist's office. Make sure you don't have the beginning of an abscess.
