How does the goldsmith do the ingraving on the inside of a ring.
Because there is no angle at which the ingraving is done.

I know the rings I have engraved use a pick almost like the ones at a dentist's office that curve at a 90 degree angle. It is engraved perpendicular to the surface of the ring, which is immobilized while the pick/drill moves.

I have no clue really but I'm guessing its a round tool that fits in side the ring that cuts "what ever the ingraving is into the ring".
