All (or most) grapes juice are white in color, when you keep the skin of the red grapes to ferment with the juice, after few days, the juice will get the red color from the skin. But if the Grapes has a white skin, they will never get a color.
Some cheept table wines are using all kind of grapes, and using a natural coloring (like beetroots) to get the red color they want.

The red in red wine grapes resides solely in the skins. The juice and pulp on the inside of the grape is white.

So, to make a white wine from red grapes, they simply press the juice away from the skins immediately after the grapes are picked. And to make red wine, winemakers soak the juice with the skins while the wine is fermenting.
White wine however, comes from white grapes, so there's no red that will blend into the wine.

Because you can "remove" color, but you can't add. Most of the color of a grape is in the skin.
