I have a 3 years old son, he is extremely too active !! And he is not Hyper type of kid, if you ask me! Is just that he like to screm and yell...as I know sometime is because of the environment influnce! But I plan to visit my parent next year in Malaysia it will be almost more than 12 hour flight. What should I do so that my son will be a little bit not too active and scarem...I try everything which including the method use on the TV show of "Supernanny"!! Help!!!

Giving your kids Benedryl or other medecines just to slow them down is sick. You don't drug your kids to keep them quiet. Even if they are being annoying, its wrong and its lazy.

There is nothing wrong with having an active kid. You should teach him that screaming all the time is not acceptable though unless he is in the right place like a park. Take him places he can scream and let him, but then be strict about it when you are in places where it isn't okay. And don't put up with it at all, even if it inconvenient to leave when he does it. The consistency is really important.

You should practice for the flight by telling him all about it, practicing quiet time like you will be having on the airplane, etc. Going to the airport to watch the airplanes might also get him excited about the trip, and give him incentive to calm down for it.

Also, try getting one of the those mini DVD players so he can watch favorite movies on the plane to keep quiet too.

There is a show on the life channel. Life's Real Families that is VERY helpful. More so than Super Nanny I think. You should check it out on their website.

He is active because he is a bright kid! Hey, if my 3 year old boy sits there all day looking like a prawn dumpling, THAT"S when I start to get worry...

As said, play more with him, let him burn all that energy that's bursting to come out. Teach him some mind games (couting 1-10, then backwards) and other activities that uses his mind skills, teach him how to tie knots, make paper aeroplanes, etc. It sounds like he wants some intellectual intake.

Plan a doctor apt soon w. only you and his doctor. And dicuss the situation. My daughter doc gave us a pre dosed semi sedative to give our daughter on our flight from Detroit to Texas. It made her very calm the whole time. As if she could fall asleep at any time. On a flight that long the medicine should work about 80% of time the rest of it he will be a bit more active, not much however.

Benadryl. Test it first it can have an opposite affect on some children. Buy him one of those v-smile or v-tech games for the flight you can only give a 3 year old so much Benadryl before you have to send them to the hospital.

lol just because he is active doesnt mean you need to slow him down!
Play more games with him, give him challenges like puzzles or a hand held gameboy etc!

Ok SUPER MOM- does he get enough running around, exploring time. What do you feed him? Do you give him lots of sugary stuff? Do you give him time-out? Are you too leanent? Does he get enough of your undivided attention?

He's 3, you can't change that. Why drug him if there's nothing wrong with him?
