Shani is a demi God, one of the 9 planets incharge of Destiny. Wrongly classed as an evil planet, he is actually the planet of experience- he forces us to confront out weaknesses and overcome them.
As such, from a spiritual point of view he is one of the main planets, though he is bad materially.
