I am trying to get this new guy I like to notice me. But I can't seem to get his FULL attention. He only thinks of me as a friend right now and I want him to get to know me on a more personal level but don't know where to start. Any ideas?

People usually get more personal by talking about more personal things. Try talking about something a little more personal, something you won't mind him knowing if it doesn't go the direction you want it to. See if he responds by sharing something more personal about himself.
This is a dance you're trying out here, and it sounds like you're leading right now to find out if you two can dance together. Go a little at a time, and if it's something you two find a rhythm with you just may get to dance together for a while. :-)

Find out his interests. If they are the same things you are interested in then talk about that. What ever you do just be yourself and never force anything. Maybe he just wants you as a friend right now because that is what he needs. If you can't be his friend then how can you be anything else? Some of the best relationships start out as friendships.

Why not finding out the reason he wants for you to be just friends.
Maybe he doesn't like you in the same sense you like him or perhaps he is afraid to start looking at you in another way. Or, there is a third possibility: he doesn't recovered from a previous relation which ended bad.
If he doesn't like you as a women than it will be a pity to lose his friendship. On the other hand, if he is a shy guy , well than you will have to start....being patient.

A lot of times young people hang out as a large group of friends and it is hard to pair off in such a setting. What u need to do is take him aside and ask him if you and he could have some private time, like a date.

Go for it, dont be scared of loosing his friendship. Believe me if he doesnt feel the same then just say you are sorry you tried and it will not happen again if he does not want it. Soon he will be thinking." She is actualy a gutsy girl and I like to spend time with her as a friend why not more?" Then you should just make it a bit hard for him and then he is all yours to make with as you please.

i would advise that you take it easy and be patient, for if you said you want to do thing to make you get notice by him, he may count you as cheap girl.
so you have to be patient. for i believe there are some people like that they might be studying you from distance..
so be yourself and have patient in no time he will come looking for you
