Pigs harbour a range of parasites and diseases that can be easily transmitted to man. These include trichinosis, cysticercosis, and brucellosis. They also very commonly have large concentrations of parasitic ascarid worms in their guts. The presence of these diseases and parasites is one of the main reasons why pork meat should always be well cooked or cured before eating. Pigs can also be aggressive and pig induced injuries are relatively common in areas where pigs are reared of where they form part of the wild or feral fauna.

Pigs are indeed scavengers. Think of what slop means lol. They will eat anything, including feces. They do not have many stomachs, like a cow does, so their digestive system doesn't purify the waste; hence the reason for so much fat on a pig.
That was the 'scientific' reason why God said they were unclean. In our modern day society, where we have pig farms, they are grain-raised - the chance of getting sick from one is much smaller than thousands of years ago in the desert when they ran free. This is why we know them now to be okay to eat.
Despite that, some people use the not eating of pork as an act of obedience to God (or Allah). Do not chastise them for it, they are obeying their King.

It is not "we" who have found them unclean, but God who said so.
My own thoughts on the matter are that back in the days the Quran was written (the old testament, too forbids pork) is that there was no refrigeration and not always a way to cook thoroughly, and there was danger of trichnosis. Pigs will eat feces and they lay in their own feces (if penned) and can carry disease. It may be that pigs are omnivores and very close to human in DNA? I think pigs are so close that they can implant pig organs into humans. those are just my thoughts, but the reason is that God said so.

Not a Muslim but can answer. Jews and Muslims don't eat pigs because they come from the desert and it doesn't keep there and there was no refrigeration available. It started out as a matter of health and eventually became codified into these religions.
The Catholic no red meat on Friday came from bribes to the pope by local fisherman because people weren't eating as much fish any more. All these sort of religious laws generally have roots in practicality and become "mystified" (used here as a verb) over time.

First of all if you were really knowledgeable, you would know that pork is prohibited in Islam and Christianity as well.
1) The pigs are unclean, naturally lazy and indulgent in sex. It eats almost anything (even it's own dirt/****). It is the most avaricious of all domestic animals and it's the greatest cradle of harmful germs/diseases.
You can read about all the diseases caused by pigs

1. Pork prohibited in the Qur’an:
The Qur’an prohibits the consumption of pork in no less than 4 different places. It’s prohibited in 2:173, 5:3, 6:145 and 16:115. For instance, Allah says: “Forbidden to you (for food) are: dead meat, blood, the flesh of swine, and that on which hath been invoked a name other than that of Allah.” (Al-Ma’idah: 3)
The above verses of the Glorious Qur’an are sufficient to satisfy a Muslim as to why pork is forbidden.
2. Pork prohibited in the Bible:
Addressing the Christian who is likely to be convinced by his religious scriptures, the Bible prohibits the consumption of pork, in the book of Leviticus: “…and the swine, as he divideth the hoof, and be cloven footed, yet he cheweth not the cud; he is unclean to you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcass shall ye not touch, they are unclean to you.” (Leviticus chapter 11 verse 7 and 8)
Pork is also prohibited in the book of Deuteronomy: “And the swine, because it divideth the hoof, yet cheweth not the cud, it is unclean unto you. Ye shall not eat of their flesh, nor touch their dead carcass.” (Deuteronomy chapter 14 verse 8)
A similar prohibition is repeated in the book of Isaiah chapter 65 verse 2-5.

Not every thing we are supposed to do we have to know the justifications.
But since it is forbidden by ALLAH we have to stick to it, and a reason (s) can be discovered later on or not.
From medical point of view there are many diseases the pig act as a vector for it.

ANSWER
First of all it is command of GOD who created everthing that exist. ONLY CREATOR knows what is the BEST for mankind and life being a TEST, GOD will test mankind by any means. Also one of the reason is the animal is unclean that means it eats **** of human and how can one imagine eating its flesh which is composed of human ****.
