God has created each one of us for His divine purpose. The duty of every Christian is to discover God's plan and purpose for his life. This means knowing God and His word, being trained to use the spiritual gifts that He has given us and being transformed in our character to be more like Jesus. Because God has created us He knows all our attibutes and capabilities and is able to give us a calling (be in church - eg a pastor, at home -eg a homemaker, in the community - eg a social worker or marketplace - eg a businessperson) that perfectly suits each one of us. Moreover God empowers us to serve Him and therefore we can serve Him from a position of rest without having to strive. Striving to earn a living is a curse on Adam that Jesus has redeemed us from. So it will a breeze for us to serve God in love, joy, peace and great fruitfulness.

The sole purpose of life is to eat, keep from being eaten, and reproduce.

Once you have reproduced and your offspring are self sufficent, the only purpose we have is to become food for something else. (lions, tigers, bears, bacteria, ants, worms)
