Put in boiling water very briefly to blanche and then put in airtight baggies and place in freezer then thaw as needed!

Boy, you have to watch the answers people give you, for safety's sake - and in this case, food safety's sake. Notice how many say just put it into a bag and in the freezer. WRONG>
The corn MUST be blanched before freezing, to stop the enzymes. Blanching means bringing a big pot of water up to boiling, putting the cleaned cobs in for about two minutes, then removing them immediately from the hot water and put into cold water to stop the cooking process. When they are cool, dry them and put into freezer bags.

remove the leaves and corn silk. Do not wash, the excess water will absorb into the corn, and then freeze! This is bad because when the water freezes the crystallization of the water will literally tear the cell structure of the corn, and when it is thawed and cooked will give it a smushy texture. If you like smushy corn on the cob...by all means, wash the corn before freezing. If not, then do not wash and place into freezer bags.

I shuck my Iowa sweet corn, remove all silks and cut it off the cob. For each batch use approximately 24 ears. I put it in a pan with 1 cup sugar, 4 tsp salt and one quart water. Bring to boil and boil 5 minutes, stirring occasionally to keep it from sticking. Remove from heat and set pan in a cold water bath to cool. I then bag 2 cups per freezer bag and freeze. When reheating thaw and add some butter and heat. DELICIOUS!

and even freeze the cob?my mum would cut the corn away from the cob then just put it in the freezer

I prefer to remove the kernels from the cob and then freeze them in Freezer bags. I don't like freezing the whole cob.

Cook the cobs and allow to cool. Take a sharp knife and carefully remove the corn. Crumble up to separate them and place in freezer bag. To use reheat them and strain off the water then toss in butter or margarine and serve.

If fresh corn on the cob, i just freeze it but i think you are meant to blanche it first. Never had any probs with mine though.

corn on the cob freezes very well put it in the coldest part of the freezer wrapped in cling film use within 3 months

usually I cook the corn like normal, use an electric carving knife and run the knife down the sides of the ear. Bag it and freeze it. It always tasted really good especially in the dead of winter!
