Every box of farina (cream of wheat) that I have ever seen called for 3 Tablespoons of farina per cup of water. Cook for 3 minutes uncovered, stirring occaisonally.

For an interesting twist, blend 1 tablespoon of cocoa with the farina before adding to water. When it is done cooking, add a couple tablespoons of peanut butter and brown sugar to taste. Result - Reece's style farina. Tastes great.

2 c. sugar
3 c. water
1 stick butter
14 oz. box reg. farina
Cinnamon

In a saucepan combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil. Boil low about 10 minutes. In another saucepan melt butter over low heat, add farina and lightly toast for about 30 minutes. Do not allow farina to brown. Slowly add syrup to toasted farina and cook a few minutes until mixture is very thick and holds its shape. Pour mixture into a mold that has been sprayed with any vegetable spray. Press down to pack firmly. Allow to cool. Turn mold onto a serving plate and tap until it unmolds. Sprinkle with cinnamon and cut into serving pieces.

To make hot cereal: Bring 3 cups water and 1/2 teaspoon salt to a boil. Add 1 cup farina cereal and turn heat down. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Makes enough for four hungry people. Serve with honey (or brown sugar) and milk. Add almost any fruit such as sliced bananas, peaches, raisins, etc., and/or dates, walnut, pecan or sunflower pieces to increase your breakfast nutrition and pleasure.
