I was just wondering if anyone could think of something nice and unique to do in the babies nursery, without it being obviously religious... I dont want to push any religion on my child (or my hubby doesnt at least)
Thanks for sensible suggestions

I'm in my mid tweinties, and I didnt mean decorating styles although they sound great, I was think more along the lines of what one of my friends suggested, a hand made photo frame, with different crystals/stones around the edge. Just a little something that would be something to me, maybe even a good luck charm.
And what I meant about not wanting it to be too religious was i didnt want anyone suggesting I plaster pentacles etc everywhere!!!

Oh and if you dont understand the first thing about Paganism, dont bother responding!!!!
Please dont feel sad for my family, the reason I dont want to push my belief's on my child is so it can choose its own path when its old enough... whether that Christianity or whatever.

Oh dear, have you seen the rant in the parenting section this question has caused! I wish some people would learn a bit about other faiths before opening their mouths!

My best friend is a Wiccan :-)
How about a nature theme? Things that would reflect the Goddess and be peaceful, but not overtly Wiccan? For example, paint the walls a pale pale blue, and air brush clouds on them, paint birds into the skies and ceiling and put a few trees, maybe a mural of a waterfall with deer drinking from a pool? Make sure the room is nice and open to the sunlight also :-)
Bright Blessings!
Oh, and I thought of one more thing, maybe mural each wall with a different type of scene to reflect maybe the four seasons, or even the four corners, North, South, East and West?

I had to see what all the fuss was about and come to the source ;)
I don't know much about Pagan religion. My best friend in school became one, and he tried to explain it to me.... but I guess I forgot everything other than they don't really ride brooms....
But my comment here is more towards: Don't worry about it.
My daughter's Nursery was decorated in bright colors. Many different colors, all pure and bright. Her favorite color now is pastel blue.
She had a Winney the Pooh bear that would talk to her. By the time she was 3 she hated Pooh Bear.
She had a Tickle me Elmo that she was deathly afraid of. But now has no problem with Sesame street characters (though they are a bit young for her).
I guess what I am trying to say, is that you wish to put a religious item in your baby's nursery, for your own reasons. Don't be afraid that it will imprint on your baby and her life will be forever changed by it. It is there for your comfort, and therefore should be there.
Later in your child's life, introduce your child to all fathoms of religions and let them decide for themselves if that is your wish. They may remember your religious artifact that was in their room and they may not. Either way be as open as you are here and you will not have any problems.

Ummm never known a nursery to have a religious overtone anyhow. Why do you need to ask this question unless you are wanting the nursery to reflect WIccan/Pagan styles?
Just pick a nursery style. I would think any would fit the category except NOAH's ARK.
Try rubber duckies!
This is a strange question and by the way the question is stated seems to be to be kinda a haox anyhow. You appear to young to be raising a baby.
ADD ON: Okay now with you additional note it makes more sense. I wasn't trying to be insensitive. (for all that gave thumbs down) the original question was confusing. The way the comment was phrased about your hubby sounded young. Ya never know around here people ask question sometimes just to get attention..since it is close to Halloween some people may have gotten the wrong idea about this question.
Sounds to me like you have some great ideas, keeping the spirtuality of your family without it being over powering. Love it.

Have a wonderful time with your baby and designing your nursery. The first two suggestions sound awesome. Other suggestions may be crystal hangings in the window that make prisms on the wall in the sunshine and maybe soft celtic music sometimes.

Although I'm no guardian, I have a few solutions for you. I could additionally desire my youngsters to be Pagan. In addition, I could teach them on many faiths as good adding the Abrahamic ones and specific mindsets like atheism and types of theism. I feel this type of kind of house education is a nice thought. However, a main trace: don't categorical reviews on ANY of the religions you propose instructing your youngsters approximately. That can sway them off to at least one or the opposite facet despite the fact that you didn't intend that (e.g. they could develop to dislike specific religions with no trouble for the reason that they've been encouraged via your perspectives on them). Or to be certain you duvet for any accidental expressions of opinion, gift each the professionals and the cons of the quite a lot of religions. My mom is atheist and so much of my household is Christian (albeit in identify most effective). Christmas for us is a time to dinner party as a household, alternate items and needs and many others. The devout features of the admittedly countless vacations of quite a lot of religions for the duration of that interval influences us separately on my own. We do not have a good time the devout element of Christmas or Yule or Triesperon. That is as much as the person in my household. EDIT: Triesperon is an historical Greek occasion. It's lovely very similar to Yule in context (honours sun deities, the long run go back of the solar and many others), it certainly honours Heracles and Helios and it began from the night time of the twenty first of December until the night time of the twenty fourth of December. It fell out of status and celebrants after the more and more extra frequently celebrated Dies Natali Solis Invicti, Mithras' birthday and many others.

I like your own idea of the picture frame and I would suggest checking out the link below for a list of crystals good for children to choose from. Maybe you could use one or two of the ones listed as well as your childs birth stone?
One of the ones listed that I liked the sound of was;
Pyrite
A "Protection Stone". Iron Pyrite comes in many different shapes, from sun discs to cubes. Children are attracted to its shiny brassy surfaces. Pyrite is like a small mirror; negative energy is relected away. The terror of being unprotected is reduced. There is also a feeling of physical empowerment, that life in the physical form is perfect, and love is abundant.

Why not just do a celestial theme? Do stars and moons. I am pregnant with my third and was kinda hoping for a girl this time around. I was going to do a fairy folk themed nursery. But we're having our third boy!!! There are some great fairy items out there though. You could do a great nursery that way.

Like someone already said, I don't really think most baby rooms have a religious theme anyway (except for noah's ark). I think you can go with anything you like. Perhaps moons/stars, animals, etc. Good luck to you.
