More to the point, can democracy survive Islam.

I would question whether Iraq's got democracy and Islam is doing pretty well there. But the fact that Islamic nations don't allow freedom of religion suggests that they're worried that if people had the freedom to weigh up the alternatives- they wouldn't choose Islam

Democracy is man made laws, Islam is based on God's laws. So yes Islam will survive over democracy.

What in Islam makes muslims so anti-democracy? Is there soemthing in your Holy Book that says you don't have a right to make your own decisions and use your brain??????? Why don't Iraqi's want to have control over their own government? You'd think they'd be tired of always being ordered around and told what to do and what to think. I'm not anti-Islam by any means - I've studied all religions and I've found that each one holds SOME truths in one way or another. And I completely DISAGREE with our troops even being in Iraq, but what is so bad about democracy????

No, I think what is happening in Iraq is much more complex, but I agree with the general principle of your question. Islam demands a Theocracy, which is incompatible with democracy. That is why the founding fathers of the USA made sure that it was not set up as a Christian nation, and included the separation of Church and State in the constitution.

the mohommedan philosophy is diametrically opposed to democracy. In a democracy, you elect your leaders and they are accountable to you.

In the fundamentalist versions of the Abrahamic religions, God is the supreme dictator. You MUST obey him in everything. If he says go and kill, then you obediently go off and kill. Look at Abraham himself. First God tells him to lop of the end of his penis. So what does he do, not only his but everybodies around him. Then God tells him to kill his own son. A really morally uplifting story isn't it. One for the kids at bedtime. OK, so it was just a test but it shows a warped and perverted mind that approves of mental and physical torture.

Personally I reckon that if anybody ever proves the existence of god/allah, he should immediately be charged with crimes against humanity and executed - by beheading or stoning, which he seems to like. After that, democracy can rule and the sycophantic followers of this pervert can be charged in due course.

Absolutely yes, but not your unlimited freedom.
I can't understand the 2nd. part, don't you know it is an American game in Iraq, do you think they are serious, they came for something else .
OR is that the democracy what you are talking about of killing innocent people , rapping, stealing, and destroying the resources of a country???
Is that your democracy? If it so, No Islam will not.

Islam comes with the True and Accurate Democracy

LOL yes, I guess that's a good analogy. I am aggainst all mainstream religions, and am an atheist. But, that said, I also don't want to see cultural diversity die out. In my idea world the muslims would still be on their rugs praying to Allah in the east, observing ramadan and other harmless rituals, just without all the hate and repression they have now. They should embrace the modern world and try to intigrate progress into what they hold sacred. Just a thought.

I think it's like pouring petrol on a fire. Can it survive it? I think it can probably exploit it to unleash forces that we in the democratic west won't be comfortable with. Democracy must be kept away from the middle east at all costs.
