Milk-chocolate brown and an almost oatmeal like colour with the blue will look masculine without being too heavy or too juvenile, plus these colours are quite trendy now too.
As with any interior, contrast is important, and both the brown and oatmeal colours will contrast harmoniously with your blue carpet. Blue and white colour schemes have a tendency to look childish if not handled properly, so the brown & oatmeal will automatically add that grown-up feel to the space. These two shades will also emphasize the colours in the brick wall, making it a focal point without any further effort needed.
Go for a combination of solid colours and graphic prints for all fabric items (sofa upholstery, window treatments, bedding...). Bold stripes, retro patterns (circles, intertwining rounded squares...), and lots of texture will all further develop a really cool style and by sticking to the brown & oatmeal with just a bit more of the blue brought in, when you move all your stuff will easily adapt to another environment.
For texture you should pair different things together. For instance, if you opt for a microfiber sofa, put a couple of leather pillows on it and a couple of silk (or silky-looking) throw pillows on it. I have seen some amazing throw pillows for under $20 at the large stores, so this doesn't have to turn out as expensive as you might initially fear. If your coffee table is wood, decorative things on it should be shiny, but if your table is glass, opt for decorative things made of wood, cork or bamboo.
Whatever elements you introduce in the room should be repeated -- if you have 2 leather pillows, also purchase a leather photo frame or magazine holder. If you have stainless steel picture frames, choose a stainless CD holder... The reason this helps so much is because it pulls the eye to keep looking through the room, thereby taking emphasis off of what you don't want to be a focal feature of the room -- in your case it sounds like the intensity of the blue carpet is what has to be down-played. Good luck & enjoy your new place.

Go with browns & tans. Your first step is to color match the carpet. It's important to match the carpet so you don't get browns that clash with it. For example-some colors have a yellow base while others have a blue base or a red base. If your carpet is a yellow based blue, like most jeans, and you put it with a blue based brown or tan you will be very uncomfortable (we won't even think about the white walls or your coloring here because the carpeting is, I'm assuming, untouchable). Take the carpet color (you should try to get a good sized piece like a 1/4 yard of fabric for your carpet color match but anything will help-even a paint chip) with you when you shop for furnature and accesories. Fortunately, unless you are color blind, you will like the mix of color, if it is right, when you look at it in both store lighting and sunlight (bring it ot the window-seriously) Try to get a few accessories in the same color as the carpet so it looks like you planned the carpet. Go for plain color or wide stripes for the more masculine look and step away from the football blanket!

Greys, browns, and tans. I personally would probably go with a medium to light tone stone colored tan instead of the white. Then for furniture like a couch I'd probably go with a charcoal grey.
The tan would go along with the red/orange brick. I would go with more of a medium to light color because you don't want the walls too dark or it will take away from the accent of the brick. You want the brick accent wall to stand out. If you used a grey you could probably use a little bit of a darker color because it contrasts more with the reddish brick. If you decided to go with grey, I would probably go with medium chocolate brown colored furniture.
To add a little to the brick accent wall and make it not look so bare, I would hang some picture frames (probably black) with black and white photos in them. You can take family pictures and have them blown up in black and white for something like this. A few wooden shelves mounted on the brick accent wall (black or wood finish) with some of your favorite nick-nacks will also make it a little more less bare and homey. Use a few blue nick-nacks on the shelves to correlate with the blue carpet. Silver, steel, black rod iron, or nickel finished metal objects would also look good on the shelves.

Hi,
A very good color combination for an Adult male is navy-blue and maroon. If you want to in any way introduce another color into this combination I would suggest hunters green, however anything else and your environment will become too busy. I would suggest that you try and tone down as much of the blue carpet with large scatter rugs in navy, maroon and hunters green. Only you will know how this can work in real life.
Light Orange can communicate well with Gold so that is not such a massive problem as that color goes extremely well with the color combination that I have suggested, your only really big problem is the carpet. I would suggest that you try and paint the wall a sponged hunters green, it shows less dirt and is really fun to do yourself if you get ahold of a Internet article on these things or even ask your hardware store if they can direct you.
A way to combine these colors for your bed is in a nice plaid, they used to have a good pattern at Brylane Home. I have no idea if they still do. It is worthwhile to check it out.
I hope this helps a little.

What about brown? Have you checked any paint company websites to see what color combinations they put together? I think a dark brown or a golden tan would look nice. If you're just talking about decorating.... then I would definately go with a large striped curtain... long and to the floor with a white background and blue brown and maybe even a green thrown in there... that's masculine... and forget about trying to match the brick. Just leave that as a neutral background. Brown furniture with pillows that tie in the blue and the white. work with three colors... and don't go overboard. Masculine is simple, and not too overwhelming. Stripes and solids work well with any three colors. Keep the Blue and add two more colors. Just have fun with it. Look at a color wheel... and match things up.

Chocolate brown. A tan couch with chocolate brown and blue accents. Use different shades of blue too. Also, you can use a throw rug to help break up the blue carpeting. Something tan and really light. Good luck.

I'm a guy and love my black furniture, but hate how much the dust shows on it (need to dust every day, twice if the window is open). Anything in heavy wood reflects masculinity, but stay with the light colors for easier maintenance. If you do go with the black, shades of blue go very well.

Chocolate brown accents go with blue.If you could get a leather piece, even a bench that "mans" it up.Stay away from beige-too feminine.Get some black and white prints and frame them in a series in inexpensive black frames for a modern look.
