I think they are just a little 2 young to be taken off the bottle completely. However, during the day, give them sippie cups (you know the cups that have a screw on lid with a mouthpiece for them to drink from.). After their baths and before bed, give them a bottle.

Do they drink from a cup at all yet? If not buy sipper cups and start putting their drink in them. Some sipper cups come with a bottle type top but it is no t flexible like a nipple. It is just a security thing for them. Once they realize they get the same out of a sippy cup than a bottle they will give it up. The best thing is to take all the bottles and wash then and put them away or throw them away if you are not having any more children. This way you will not be tempted to go back to the bottle just because someone is having a fit because they want their bottle. They may cry for a little bit especially if they are used to having at bed or certain times of the day. You have created a habit in them and it needs to be broken now before it gets worse. Stick to your convictions of having them off the bottle now and you will not be sorry.

First off remember each child is different. What worked for me and other may not work for your child.
My daughter was ten months when I took her off the bottle and basically she went cold turkey. When I first gave the sippy cup she couldn't get anything out because most of them usually have a filter of some type inside the spout so that it doesn't spill when the kid drops them. I simply removed the filter and gave it to her the liquid came out and I out the filter back and in and it was done. No mess, no fuss.
No getting her off the pacifier was a bit harder simply because she used it to help her go to sleep at night. I find that children who need bottles or binky's at night are harder to break. My daughter never had a bed time bottle so it was very easy to do. But I would suggest giving the sippy cups to your twins and see how they respond. Trust yourself, you'll see if they are ready or not and don't be upset if they don't respond right away just have patience and keep trying.

With my sister's twins she started giving them a sippy cup in place of the bottle except for their nighttime bottle. That one took a little longer. At night she started giving them strawberry flavored milk in a sippy and then straight to bed. It was a new routine but they now know when the strawberry flavor comes it is bedtime.

I would get a sippy cup with their favorite nick jr or disney character . when they cry just hand them the cup or lay it around so they can get to it. my daughter wouldn't take her sippy cup at first. Then we was eating a sandwich she wanted something to drink grab the sippy cup that was it... It take time but have patience. I do suggest don't give bottle and sippy cup it will confuse them altogether. good luck....

My son just turned one also. At first i only gave it at night for about two days and then just took it away completly. I thought it would be harder than it was, after the first day i took it away he wasnt even interested in it. He was more excited about the real food he was getting. Good luck.
