it honestly really depends on the bird. my two Grey's will be 20 next month and one of them has been talking since he was 3, the other only started talking a few years ago. Some might not even talk....

Hey there. I have a 1 year old quaker and he only says a couple things so far. Its completely up to the bird though, sort of like children. When they are ready, it will start coming out. Just be patience, if you get frustrated, the bird will pick up on that and think it is doing something wrong. I have found that repeating things constantly doesnt work very well, but like i said, each bird is different. Quakers do mumble alot before they began speaking clear, so when the mumbling begins, listen close for words to follow.

Repetition, repetition, repetition. The greater usually you communicate and play including your fowl, the greater apt he's to p.c.. up issues. while you're excited once you're coaching the fowl a sparkling notice, they many times get excited besides and could p.c.. it up somewhat swifter than in case you purely sit down there and repeat a similar component (it extremely is why birds usually finally end up finding out on up words you do no longer unavoidably choose for them to, like curse words, on account that they're usually stated with such emphasis...) a happy, healthy, fowl that has a super form of persons time, will usually communicate better than a fowl that's merely caught in a room via itself with a radio or something. That being stated, there is not any assure that your very own fowl will ever communicate in any respect. There are even some African gray's that not at all communicate, it extremely is all as much as the guy fowl.

It really just depends on the bird itself. I got my qp at 10 wks and he was talking a week later. he's almost a year over and has a vocab of about 200 words. i have a couple of others, ages unknown who i never hear say a word. some quakers are closet talkers and some talk no matter who can hear them. the best advice to try to get them to talk is talk to them like you would a child. say it with lots of excitement in your voice. good luck

I was told that my quaker doesn't talk much because it is probably a female (hard to tell with quakers). It will say things sometimes, but it's like she really has to struggle to do it...like it's hard to twist her tongue...but she does surprise me...once i moved her cage to a shady spot with a cool wind after being cooped up inside and i said "better?) and she anwered me "better". i never said that to her before. they are pretty smart

It all depends on the bird they could start talking at any time some of them just won't because they just don't want to but with lots of training and lots of patients they will most likely start talking in no time!
GOOD LUCK!

It really depends on how much time you have to dedicate to it,all birds learn to mimic. from experience I had not ever gotten my quakers to talk. but they do have training abilities!try www.parrotsecrets.com best of luck!

it depends, what kind of curse words are you trying to get it to say?

The average Quaker parrot takes about 5 years to teach it how to talk. Hey, there is good news though, it only takes one year to teach it how to levetate and only 6 months to teach it how to moonwalk.
