Talk to your doctor. Only he can tell you what to safely do. What some of the people said about taking the the Xanax at a different time is what I did when Xanax made me feel groggy in the morning and it worked fine for me. But your doctor will know better what you should do.

I would not listen to the nursing student. Taking more than one pill a week does not make you an addict. I take Xanax as needed and sometimes that's twice a day for two weeks straight and then I won't need it for maybe two or three weeks after that. That does not make me an addict.

It is an addictive medication and that's why it is monitored by your physician. But for someone who is in school and not aware of your history and why it was prescribed to you in the first place, it's a little presumptuous for them to tell you that you shouldn't be taking these meds and looking for an alternative.

Groggy In Morning

It could be the ativan making you groggy, or the combination. Try taking the xanax earlier in the day, and you should feel better the next morning.....or try taking the meds at different times, not together.

Maybe you should try taking the xanax a little earlier than what you do at night time.
It might not be the xanax making you drowsy. It could be the dose. Try breaking it in half and see if that works. And like I said, it may be the time that you're taking it.

Do u take them together? It is called a rebound effect. If u haven't been taking them for very long, u have to get used to them. The first time I took a benadryl, I slept for 2 days! Now, I can take them every 4-6 hours and have no problems. Try going to sleep earlier.

One is a nerve pill and one is a pain killer. You now have the prescribed makings to become a drug addict. Good Luck with that.
