Are Canon A700 a very good camera?

After much research I bought an A700 because I was tired of carrying around my heavy SLR film camera and lenses. After using it for awhile I may never use film again. My only regret is not waiting for the A710, it has image stabilization. Check www.newegg.com or www.beachcamera.com.
